JUC has several established societies which are responsible to organize and arrange a number of activities within the college framework. The societies in charges are selected through interviews. Aptitude and enthusiasm are a major factor in the selection.

  Photography and Film society

This society is a niche for all future aspiring photographers and film-makers. The members are encouraged to explore unique and interesting sites in and outside the campus and to share their creativity with everyone. Competitions are held which are theme based for photography and the production of a short film.

  Literary and Journalism Society
The literary and journalism society is responsible for a constant update of important events and happenings all around. This information is shared through bulletins and pictorial presentations. The society is also responsible for taking out an Annual Yearbook every academic year which includes a complete summary of the entire academic calendar of events, personal contributions of stories and poems, art work made by our students, pictures and collages. The yearbook boasts of interviews of famous personalities and it also pays tribute to several personalities of international acclaim. JUC also encourages its aspiring writers to take part in international competitions. One being the “NaNoWriMo” which is a competition for authors of any age and expertise to write up to 50,000 words. Their work is judged and proof read for free. Winners will also receive a free copy of their short novella. The board of judges may even find publishers for people with outstanding potential.
  Creative Arts Society
The creative arts society includes music, art and drama. Being aware of the needs of a creative scholar the college has employed three experienced musicians to teach the students on how to play instruments and also on how to train their voices for singing. At the end of each academic year the college holds a singing competition judged by well-known singers of Pakistan. It is the task of this society to hunt for and discover new talent. An art competition is held at least once every term and the winning entries are used in the yearbook. One mega-drama evening is organized around January and it is held either at our own Auditorium or as in previous years stage productions were presented at the PACC which were on for three consecutive evenings.
  Debating Society

This society is responsible for the preparation of students taking part in debating competitions around the city. It is also the driving force in the Annual Inter School debating event held at JUC where participants of different schools and colleges are invited to share their communicative and debating skills.

  Readers’ Society

A strong motivational force is needed to develop a reading culture amongst our youth. This society was created to re-incarnate the dying breed of readers in society at large. It is the task of this society to hold meetings of the book-club on a six weekly basis. The readers’ society also plays a pivotal role in the publication of the annual yearbook.

  Green Society
Mother Earth deserves attention too and it is the task of members of this society to create an awareness of the importance of saving our planet before it is too late. This is achieved by arranging cleanliness drives, tree plantations, beach clean-ups and also spreading knowledge and encouraging saving of power and resources, recycling and re-using as much as possible. A major and monumental event held this year by this society was a “Peace Day”. Personal anecdotes were exchanged, badges promoting peace were made by the students and speeches were also given on the importance of promoting peace in this day and age. Poems were also written and shared with the students. This event will become a regular feature at JUC.
  Science and Medical Society

The members of this society are responsible to spread an awareness of personal hygiene and healthy life-styles. This is achieved through presentations and bulletins. The members of this society are also expected to be at par with new and radical scientific or medical breakthroughs and to share the information with their peers. They also play a pivotal role in helping the community service volunteers going to JMCH where the knowledge of scientific terms and terminology comes in very useful and the members of this society help spread know-how in different areas of medicine.
